What you need to know about Trace!

How long does the battery last for?

The battery on Trace should last for 7 hours at room temperature. At temperatures below 10F, you should have 4 hours of battery life due to the cold.

Is Trace waterproof?

Yes, Trace is waterproof to 10 meters. In fact, every Trace is tested in a water-pressure chamber to insure it’s a perfect seal.

How often do you need to clean Trace

Trace is hermetically sealed, so cleaning isn’t too important. You’ll want to make sure that there isn’t a thick layer of dirt on your Trace which may affect GPS reception, but otherwise, every other sessions, throw your Trace under the faucet (clean tap water, no salt) and give it a nice scrub with your thumb. This should be enough.

How big is Trace Action Sports Tracker?

Trace is tiny! It’s smaller than the size of a Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup and at 1.4oz is about the weight of a slice of bread. you won’t feel it at all.

How strong is the adhesive on the Trace Action Sports Tracker?

The adhesive used on the Trace mount is the strongest adhesive that 3M makes, and is actually used on military jets. Apply the Trace mount 24 hours before taking your equipment out in room temperature.

Will salt water build up wear on Trace?

No, as long as you wash your Trace off with clean water after every other use.

Does Trace have a leash or a way to secure it?

Yes, the Trace comes with a leash eyelet (does not come with a leash) that can be used to secure your Trace to bindings, another loop, or virtually everything.

How often does Trace Action Sports Tracker need to be charged?

Trace has 7 hours of battery life, so make sure to charge it after 5 – 6 hours of use. When you connect your Trace to the app, it’ll tell you how much battery life is left.

Like any piece of electronics, Trace does need to be used from time to time for the battery to remain charged and healthy. Do not go a full month without charging or not using your Trace. Putting it on the charger until Trace turns solid green (means the battery is fully charged) once a month is enough to keep the battery healthy.
